Why I conserve:
My father taught us the importance of caring for our community. He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1940s.
What I do to "take conservation personally":
Being a good steward of our forest land is an extension of our faith within the Society of Friends congregation. We manage our woodlands to nurture a diversity of plants and wildlife.
My best conservation tip or advice:
Have a long-term philosophy, plan for generations not just years. Be patient with challenges such as deer, gypsy moth and invasive plants.
My favorite Pennsylvania outdoor place or activity:
Ricketts Glen State Park is our favorite Pennsylvania outdoor place and we often ride our bikes on the Rail-Trails.
