Tell us more, so we can do more
Learning about you will increase our effectiveness in casting conservation messages and information far, deep, and wide. Click on the box and answer questions about your lifestyle practices and patterns and your use of the iConservePA website and newsletter. We’ll better understand you, your needs, and your interests. Together, we can build a sea of change.
Coins for conservation
Got some loose change stashed on your dresser? Between now and the end of October, visit any Metro Bank branch in central Pennsylvania and support the “Coins for Conservation” campaign. Look for the penny arcade machines, dump in the coins, take your receipt to the teller and tell him or her that you want to donate the money to Coins for Conservation for the PA Parks and Forests Foundation. They’ll make the deposit right into the Foundation’s account and give you a donation receipt. The dollars raised will support plantings, recreational equipment purchases, trailhead development, educational programming, and more. A penny saved is a penny yearned.
Your boots were made for walking
Do you live in a community where you can walk to many destinations? Find out how walkable your neighborhood is by logging on to Walk Score. The program brings up a Google map of your surrounding area and pinpoints the proximity of restaurants, shops, libraries, schools, parks, and more, and then gives your neighborhood a rating. Philadelphia ranks fifth in the nation. How does your community stack up?

Did you know?
$20,000 is still up for grabs in Odwalla’s Plant a Tree program that will donate a total of $100,000 worth of trees to 11 state park systems based on the votes of web site visitors. Last year, Pennsylvania was the top vote getter, but so far, we’re lagging way behind other states. Go here and click on Pennsylvania!
